I want to start a magazine. It will be called Post-PhD and it will be beautifully designed, wonderfully written, and will have inspiring, surprising, and delightful original content. It will be for and about PhDs, including ABDs and our compadres, no matter what they do or where they do it. It will exist in physical form and have an accompanying website full of blog posts and links to content from elsewhere on the web. It will have global coverage and readership. It will ignore all disciplinary boundaries.
I don’t know how to make this happen. But I do want it to happen. Who’s with me? Let’s brainstorm.

Sounds good to me. I’m not sure how best to go about it either, but it’s definitely a worthwhile goal and I’m happy to help if I can.
Love the idea, but you have to have a point person with the drive to make it happen and deal with all the petty details of reality. You game?

I think this a great idea because it would orient and channel the many post-AC voices out there into one centralized place. Just as you express interest in being a post-AC coach/counselor, given the ample demand, I think you’d have a ton of people who’d be interested in contributing to such a magazine–self included!
Are you familiar with Alexandra Lord? She’s also a post-AC PhD in history, and has written for the Chronicle. I spoke with her last year and she was very encouraging. She might be another good voice to have on your blog.

This is a lovely idea and i will love to work on this with you. I have surfed the internet at different points of my life looking for information on Pre Ph.d, Ph.d and post Ph.d materials. Nothing will give me more joy than to be a part of a team that contributes to this body of knowledge. count me in.
