The image is a close-up selfie of a person with a warm and welcoming smile. They have fair skin and are wearing brown-framed eyeglasses. Their attire seems to be a simple, classic black top, which adds a timeless quality to the photo. The background is minimalistic and blurred, ensuring the focus remains on their friendly demeanor. This headshot conveys approachability and sincerity, perfect for creating a positive and professional online presence.

I help my clients create their own success stories, ones that don’t require them to fit into little boxes built to benefit other people, so they can have the kind of impact they really want by harnessing their strengths to make our world better for everyone.

That’s why I created this free 80-minute training for you. Let’s get clear on your career path so you can confidently market yourself for jobs you actually want.

I care about your next career step. I want it to make sense for you and your goals. It’s why I’ve been helping PhDs find best fit career paths for the life and job they want for more than a decade.

I created the PhD Career Clarity Program to support you as you leave academia. Are you ready to land your next great-fit role? The PhD Career Clarity System helps you prepare for action, focus on yourself, identify possibilities, and market yourself to employers. A holistic job search framework for PhDs to help you live where you want, get paid well, and do meaningful work with supportive colleagues.

Long-time academics and PhDs find their 1-on-1 consultation with me “motivating” and “incredibly helpful.” While most people prefer the supportive community of my PhD Career Clarity Program, you might prefer to meet with me 1-on-1.

We’ll talk about where you’re at, where you want to go, and your next steps. You’ll get my best advice and information I have to share during our 1 hour consultation.

Who are single consultations best for?

People who’ve explored my resources but have found you want personalized, individual support. You may be a good fit if you’re

  • considering leaving a long-time career as an academic
  • exploring careers or early on in the job search process, particularly if you’re feeling stuck or unsure what to do next (or first)
  • newly self-employed (or you dream about being self-employed)
  • struggling to meaningfully network online and need strategies and tactics that will work for you
  • or considering whether you should apply for or enroll in a PhD program (though note that can’t comment on your application materials; consider working with an admissions consultant for help with applications, once you know you want to do it)

I don’t typically offer ongoing coaching services for individuals (it’s why I created the PhD Career Clarity Program). However, if you’re interested in working together on a longer-term basis, I’m open to that conversation.

Please read the cancellation and refund policy for consultations.

Small group coaching is an incredible experience. My job as your coach is to facilitate you gaining greater awareness, developing suitable plans, and taking meaningful action to achieve your goals.

I use a variety of coaching tools, and follow a basic structure for our sessions, beginning with setting an agenda and ending with what action you will take next. I’m occasionally able to take on coaching for groups of up to 5 people interested in doing it together.

Please share my resources with them. They may find my publications and interviews I’ve given helpful for their career search.

My PhD Career Clarity Program may be a great fit for them. Explore my services for individuals.
