It was a long weekend here in Ontario, so when Bernard offered me a ride to Ottawa, I jumped at the chance. (Ottawa’s my hometown, and my parents still live there.) The only caveat was that Bernard wanted me to take a few pictures of him posing in front of a few landmarks.

We left Saturday morning and took the long route, stopping at the Big Apple in Brighton, the lighthouse at Presqu’ile Provincial Park, and the Big Ben statue in Perth. I’ve rarely driven or stopped at places between Toronto and Ottawa, so this little bit of exploration was fun. And it was a good reminder that a break, even a short one, is a good way to recharge. Bernard and I travelled back to Toronto yesterday, and today I’m feeling ready to be productive.
