On Monday I quit my main freelance client, an independent consultant who does interesting work and from whom I’ve learned a great deal. Although I wasn’t doing much work for him just then, I knew things were going to get busy and I wanted to make my move before they did. I don’t necessarily consider this a “see you never” decision, and he doesn’t either, but I wanted to start fresh. I’m doing the same in my personal life, too. Over the past several weeks I’d been busy—all good things to be busy with—but it took a toll on my health and general well-being. Time for a reset.
Now I’m cooking again, something I like and want to do, trying to settle into a better sleeping pattern, and continuing to clear out the less awesome to slowly add in the more awesome. This website is my first add. It feels good to be blogging again, working on a project I think has value, and having a much-needed focus. Just what will happen on this site will emerge over time.
