You’re invited! Post-PhD brainstorming session

What do PhDs most want?

How can PhDs be best served?

What are PhDs most interested in?

What are PhDs biggest strengths?

What resources do PhDs have?

What helps PhDs achieve their full potential?

These questions are purposefully broad. I think they make a good beginning for some brainstorming sessions, conversations, blog posts, and Twitter chats. What do you think?

Here’s what I propose: a brainstorming session over Google Hangout with 5-7 of you.ย Let’s start with one hour-long session; I’ll add more if it goes well and there’s interest!

What: Post-PhD brainstorming session
When: Friday, 28 June, 1pm ET
How: Email me (jennifer.polk@gmail.com) to RSVP or get on the waiting list, and make sure you have Google Hangout enabled

In the meantime, let’s get the discussion going on Twitter (use the hashtag #postPhD), on the From PhD to Life Facebook page, or in the comments.

I’ve never done any of this before, so fingers crossed the technology works, my computer and internet connection stay strong, and this isn’t a terrible idea in the first place!

This is so exciting! Unfortunately, I will be attending another meeting all day on 6/28 and cannot join the discussion. Definitely look forward to hearing how it went, the conversations on Twitter, and a future session! Thanks for initiating this ๐Ÿ™‚
